I couldn’t resist doing a little piece on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as it cropped up in my inbox. It just reminded me of my brother’s and my childhood days, and 25 years on I can still remember the names of all 4 turtles. Can you? My youngest child, Leonardo is also named after one turtle making it very easy for everyone to remember his name, although he wasn’t deliberately names after a turtle. So it was fun to know that the turtles have been brought back to life for my children’s generation. (yes, I know, we are all perfect mothers who never allow our children access to television).
Last Thursday night, my kids and I got into pyjamas and cosied up to watch the the first episode of the brand new series to watch ‘Trans-Dimensional Turtles.’ It’s old school stuff, and it creates a little super hero fun for the children – hopefully it will encourage more children to be active on skateboards, and to increase a little imagination during their creative play to re-create their ideal fighting hero. The phrases, whether you approve of them or not, are catching. Cowabunga Dude!
The all-new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is also available in Mega Bloks construction, with a whole line of retro merchandise.
You can tune into Nickelodeon to catch the next episode, and if your kids are turtle fans, Paramount Pictures launches Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.
